The form (086) “Notice on the option to apply the VAT split payment system” was approved
Order no. 2.743/2017 for approving the model of the form (086) Notice on the option to apply the VAT split payment system was published in the Official Gazette no. 763/26.09.2017.
The form is used to notify the tax authority about the option to apply the VAT split payment mechanism between 1 October 2017 and 31 December 2017. After this date, the application is mandatory.
According to a news release from yesterday (26 September), the Senate has decided that split payment of VAT applies only to firms that have contracts with the state. The draft adopted by the senators from the Budget-Finance Commission is to be debated in the plenum of the Senate and then sent to the Chamber of Deputies, which is the decision-making chamber.
