VAT \u2013 starting with August 1, 2025:<br \/>\n&#8211; The reduced rate of 5% is eliminated<br \/>\n&#8211; The VAT rates are increased, as follows:<br \/>\n\u2022 The reduced VAT rate will be increased to 11% and will apply to the delivery of medicines, food, books, as well as in the HORECA sector. For HORECA, the opportunity to maintain the reduced VAT rate will be reassessed in October<br \/>\n\u2022 The standard VAT rate will be increased to 21%.<br \/>\n2. Income tax: the rate for dividend tax is increased to 16% (starting with January 1, 2026)<br \/>\n3. Social contributions: the ceiling for pension income for which the health insurance contributionis not due will be 3,000 lei.<br \/>\n4. Excises: excises on fuels, tobacco products and alcohol will be increased by 10%.<br \/>\n5. Bank profits will be taxed additionally<br \/>\n6. Gambling income will be taxed additionally<br \/>\n7.
